ZBFH Chess Club are the 2023 Interbank Champions

ZBFH Chess Club emerged as the winner of the 2023 IOBZ Interbank games topping the 15 Banks that competed in chess this year. Led by the sensational Prince Chivero ZBFH Chess Club was unstoppable winning 5 matches of the 7-round Swiss tournament.

Coming in as the 1st runners-up were the undefeated CBZ Chess Club who won 4 of their 7 matches summing it up with 3 draws. Cabs Chess Club led by their undefeated Board 1 Brian Dzvetera took home the bronze medal. Last year’s champions POSB found the going tougher finishing in the 10th position with 1 win, 4 draws and 2 losses.

The 2023 Interbanks were hosted by the Institute Bankers of Zimbabwe. The annual event which brings Zimbabwean bankers together to compete in various sporting disciplines was held at The University of Zimbabwe this year.
