Vumba Chess Classic 2025
The Harare Chess Society, this September, will take chess to the serene and lush botanical gardens of Vumba for their annual rapid chess outing. Vumba will host this year’s rapid chess tournament, dubbed the Vumba Chess Classic.
The classic tournament will be played at the Forest Hills Resort on Saturday, 20 September 2025. The playing format will be 7 Swiss rounds with a time control of 15minutes + 10 seconds from move 1. The player with the highest points after all rounds will be crowned the champion.
In their trademark fashion, the Harare Chess Society will also provide a complementary talk at the event for the benefit of all attendees. This year’s talk will be on retirement planning and will be facilitated by Natsai Nhemachena, an attorney from Vivian Matsa Law offices.
Harare Chess Society hosts this as an annual event. In 2024, the event was held at Tamarind Resort in Kariba.
